WHAT IS THIS?
I am a guitar player and have been for more than 50 years now. This site is here simply to make my personal guitar songbook (Which I have built slowly over dozens and dozens of years.) available for anyone that stumbles across it!
BACKGROUND
Long ago and far away, I had a meticulously hand written notebooks filled with songs and chords. Eventually, I converted all of them to a single Word file that I maintained for myself. Forward a few years and I added a fancy ‘click on’ table of contents and I would print out a new songbook for myself every few months. Then I discovered I could save my Word file as a PDF and thought “Hmmm…maybe I should share this with others!” Being a computer geek, I made this website and started uploading my songbook to it every time I added new material.

Songs With Word and Chords in individal plain text files: 1,051 Songs
PDF Songbook: 1,602 pages (1,035 Songs)
I update the songbook regularly when I learn new tunes. Lately, I’ve added so many tunes so fast that the PDF no longer has the same amount of songs as the plain text files. I promise to recify that as soon as I can! By the time I head for that great jam in the sky this thing could be the largest collection like it on the Internet, if it isn’t already.
It wasn’t long before my songbook was just way too large to print out and carry around. I eventually got myself an iPad and discovered the app OnSong. I could import all my songs into OnSong and carry all my chords and lyrics with me anywhere. The only trouble was, I had to switch every song I had from Word to plain text and reformat it so the chords fit the over the words properly. One long winter project later, I managed to do just that and I now have two versions of my songs available:
OPTION ONE: Download a monster size PDF book (about 6.3 MBs) which is currently 1,602 pages in length with the index and contains 1,035 songs.
OPTION TWO: Download a compressed ZIP file containing 1,051 songs, each as an individual text file.
Have I played every song in this book? Yep, at one time or another I have. Some of them only a few times and some of them hundreds of times, if not more.
